Description

The professional statics software according to DIN 18008 contains all the necessary calculations and loads. With GLASGLOBAL® , glasses according to DIN 18008 can be dimensioned statically. All loads to be considered such as snow, wind, dead weight, traffic loads or climatic fluctuations in air pressure and temperature are tested during the calculation.
Stress and deflection are compared with the permitted values and displayed on a clear result expression.

Features

The software solution „GLASGLOBAL® DIN 18008“ includes the following features:

  • Overhead and vertical glazing, fall-protection, point-supported, walkable glazings
  • Wind and snow loads and place height based on zip code or place name
  • Consideration of the shear bond
  • Symmetric and asymmetric laminated safety glass
  • Evidence of the burden of the edge network
  • Determination of tendon shortening
  • Glass thickness optimization
  • Data compatible with WinSLT
  • And much more…

Add-ons

Wind- and snow loads

By entering the postal code, the wind and snow load zones are automatically determined and all required values are inserted

Fall protection

Glass elements prevent the falling of people from a higher height, according to DIN 18008 part 4, crash-proof glazing. The standard here differs in three categories A, B, C, and is generally based on the once valid rules of TRAV.

Explanation of the individual categories:

  • Category A:
Glazings which have to carry away horizontal payloads, since they do not have a supporting parapet or raised spar of the required height for receiving horizontal payloads according to DIN EN 1991-1-1-1: 2010-12, 6.4 and DIN EN 1991-1-1 / NA: 2010-12,6.4.
  • Category B:
Glass braces clamped at the bottom, the individual panes of which are connected by a continuous handrail of the required height.
  • Category C1:
Railing infills that do not have to pay off horizontal payloads at the required height.
  • Category C2:
Glazings below a load-bearing cross bar arranged at the required height, which do not have to remove horizontal payloads of the required height.
  • Category C3:
Glazings with load-bearing uprights of the required height, which do not have to carry away horizontal payloads of the required height.

In the program you can calculate such a glazing according to the valid standard without additional necessary entries. You will also be informed about the standard specifications in the program, which must be considered in your project.
